About the story. Meet Orion Verovece, lover of beauty and life, and all things art. Born at a time when humanity and computers are becoming one. When we can live forever on our own terms. Journey with Ori as he goes through four surgeries and four recoveries, each one getting a lobe of his brain replaced. As his biology merges with technology, he struggles with what it means to be human. How to process his feelings. Discovering if the meaning of life is found in the experience, or if the experience is found in the meaning. -- Take Ori's journey through music with his companion playlist to the story. When the band leader changed the tempo of the song —AGAIN. The drummer suggested that the band use a metronome or click track to start the songs and a lively discussion was started amongst the band. The singer - who’s music they were performing - had two gold-records too his name, so his words carried some weight. He said that when people pay to see him sing they aren't paying to hear the recording, they can do that at home. They are paying to feel something, to feel what he feels in that moment, at what ever tempo that is at.Milo thought that was a brilliant comment that begged the question of why many modern musicians, both in live performances and in the studio, choose to use a click track or metronome. Giving one of the most important elements of the music; the ‘feel’ to a computer - computers don’t feel. From this Ori was born, not a musician himself but a poet at heart, a lover of beauty, life and all things artful. Born in a time when humanity and computers are becoming joined, he is searching for the ‘feel’ of life itself. Journey with Ori as he discovers if the meaning of life is found in the experience, or the experience is found in the meaning. Read more
